Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken (about 4-5 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin

Instructions

  1. Rub the entire chicken with olive oil, ensuring it’s well coated.
  2. Sprinkle the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, thyme, and cumin all over the chicken.
  3. Place the seasoned chicken in the crockpot.
  4. Cover and cook the chicken on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours until done.
  5. Transfer the cooked chicken to a baking dish and broil for 5-10 minutes for crispy skin (optional).
  6. Allow the chicken to rest for about 10 minutes before shredding or carving.

Notes

For a different flavor, swap out spices for your favorites that complement poultry. Ensure good airflow around the chicken in the crockpot for even cooking.
