Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken (about 4-5 lbs)
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 lemon, halved
  • Fresh herbs (like rosemary or thyme), optional
  • Vegetables like carrots, onions, or potatoes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the whole chicken dry and season it generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika, ensuring it’s evenly coated for maximum flavor.
  2. Place the halved lemon inside the cavity of the chicken.
  3. Layer vegetables at the bottom of the crockpot if using.
  4. Position the seasoned chicken breast side up on top of the vegetables in the crockpot.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  6. Let the chicken rest for 10-15 minutes before carving.

Notes

Ensure your crockpot can accommodate the size of the chicken and allow it to rest after cooking for the best results.
